I am a SPOILED wittle Kitty!!!

Wow, my Mom and Davercles really went out of their way to separate my Birthday from Christmas this year.  It was amazing.  I came home - dinner was ready, I was greeted with a flaming cupcake and told that another portion of my birthday meal was in the oven.  Of course all this hit right as I was walking in the door of the house - I had to pee like a race horse - FAST.  So I blew out my candles and ran for the hills - much to my surprise there was a card and present sitting on the lid of the toilet for me - Davercles rightly assumed that that would be first place I ran when I got home.  Cold weather tends to do that to me.

Anyway, my Mom had already glomped me that morning with the coolest Kitty watch ever so it was up to Davercles to bring up the rear.  He didn't disappoint.  The hardest obstacle to presents for me this year was that everything that was on my list - was either out of stock or back-ordered for at least 3 months.  Suckage.  Not to be deterred, Davercles got me some Death Note awesomeness that made me Squee with glee!  I got the first volume of the anime and number 11 of the manga series.  Woohoo!  I can't get enough of Death Note.  It's just simply made of awesome.  The other presents that came from Davercles weren't directly from him - I ordered them ahead of time with the knowledge that they were my pressies - two arrived yesterday and the other two should be here in a few days.  I got Gackt's CD single for Lu:Na/Oasis and Gackt's CD Single/DVD for Redemption/Longing - I just love the fact that all the single CDs have instrumental tracks on them.  I've started on my path to owning all originals of Gackt's discography - this brings the total to 5.  Woot!  The other two are some hardcore Yaoi that I've been wanting for some time now.  I'm getting Sensitive Pornograph and Nemureru Kimi no Barairo no Kuchibiru ~ Your Rose Colored Lips.  Yippee!  New Yaoi for the New Year!  Super awesome!

Anyhoo - gotta get back to work.  I've been slacking today and I have a presentation to finish for a project that presents on Tuesday afternoon.

They say it's My Birthday!

Well, here we are.  Another new year, another birthday.  Last year was awesome - 2007 turned out to be a banner year at the Casa de Crews.  I'm pretty damned happy with what Davercles and I have accomplished this year.  New computer, Mom in the apt downstairs, some bills paid off, etc.  I'm definitely happy!

This morning while trying to get my warm pants out of the dryer, my Mother busted out of her apartment door and glomped me while yelling Happy Birthday.  This is EXTREMELY unusual for my Mom to do that - she always, always, always waits until 5:00PM on the dot to wish me Happy Birthday - it's just not official until the exact moment that I was born.  Incidentally the only time I've ever been on-time for something.  LOL
Anyway - she hands me a card and present and makes me open them.  I ended up being 15 minutes late for work - but hell, IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!  She got me the cutest Kitty watch I've ever seen.  It's SO shiny!  It's a bangle bracelet with a silver cat face with yellowish crystal eyes on it that flips up to view the watch underneath.  Kawaii!  I'll have to post a pic of it later.

Christmas was extremely bountiful as well.  Of course all the stuff I wanted was out of stock or on back order.  Yay.  So I ordered myself a couple of things - two Yaoi mangas, a couple of Gackt CDs (so I can have all the originals - he deserves the money for all the hard work and perfection he puts into his works), a pink crystal ring, Luxor for my DS, a Metallic Rose DS Lite and a couple of PS2 games.  From my Mom I got some pretty spiffy Pink Fur ear muffs (the kind that go behind your head), a bright pink DiscGear CD holder, a box of Dots (my favorite candy), a Hello Kitty alarm clock for my night stand and a Hello Kitty water cooler for my desk at work (it will probably NEVER have water in it though - mostly green tea or Kool-Aid).  When my bento box comes back in stock I'll be getting it and I'll be getting some FaeKittae wings later on this year as well.

Davercles and I spent about 3 hours in JoAnn Fabrics picking out Mom's presents.  She's retired from K-mart and has some time on her hands so we got her a couple of plastic cabinets with large drawers on wheels and filled it with crafting supplies.  Knitting needles, pin cushion, felt, paint, yarn, crochet needles, project kits, etc.  She had over 30 presents to unwrap as I wrapped each present individually and stuffed them in the drawers.  :o)

Davercles had the biggest Christmas haul though in terms of price - he got a few of them before Christmas like the Toshiba Laptop (named Lydia) and his black LEGO Star Wars DS Lite.  At Christmas I got him a couple of nice long sleeve T-shirts, a Sushi Kit, a book covering Small Arms from the Civil War to present day, Half Life 2 - The Orange Box, new mouse for the laptop and a spiffy backpack from Under Armor that was big enough for the 17" laptop but small enough to use everyday.  Mom got him some really nice comfy PJs, comfy house pants, a Black DiscGear CD holder, and some mini-M&Ms.

Not a bad way to end a year and start a new one!  Of course there was just a small tiny glitch in the works - we had to put Dave's car in the shop over New Year's - $425 and she'll be as good as used.  We really need to get Dave a better vehicle this year.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Very Happy New Year.  Blessings and Prosperity to you all!

YEAR END MEME - STOLEN FROM THEPRIMROSEPATH

Year end meme - take the first sentence of the first post from each month of the previous year....

January 2007

"LMAO!!! I'd GLADLY drink four glasses of Gackt everyday!!!!!!!!!!!"

Wow, not much explanation needed there.  Would still GLADLY do that.  :oP

February 2007

"West Virginia to Put 'Dance Dance Revolution' in Public Schools"

Yeah, there's a big ol' bag of DUH for ya!  Hmmm, fun exercise?  Who would dare?  LOL

March 2007

"One word...one single solitary word describes my experience with 30 Seconds to Mars this past weekend.  "Supercalifuckilisticexpialidocious""

That quote barely sums up how much fun that weekend was.  Still my favorite cuss word!

April 2007

"My second favorite band in the US is coming to NASHVILLE next month!!!!!!!

Looks like this was a very musical year!  Kill Hannah gave an awesome concert with Resident Hero, Sick Puppies and Flyleaf at Rocketown.  I was impressed and had so much fun that I literally peed my pants.  *Don't ask*

May 2007

"Last weekend we got to attend a wedding for a WONDERFUL couple, Dan & Julie.  Truly a great couple and I wish them all the happiness in the world."

It really sucks that they had to move to Lake Charles, LA.  I miss them and Julie's marshmallow butt.  :oP

June 2007

I guess June was a pretty busy or pretty boring month.  No posts to really talk about.

July 2007

"Opening on Charlotte in September - McKay's Bookstore!  The Chattanooga and Knoxville mega bookstores are coming to Nashville!  WOOT!"

Doh!  I'm a dork - this place has been open for months.  I've driven past it twice and still have not set foot inside the store.  I suck!

August 2007

"Man, I can't believe it's already August!  This year has flown!  This year has also been pretty enjoyable so far and looks to end well too.  We've got both cars up and running, just some minor stuff to get fixed this fall (A/C for the Jeep, radiator for the Jeep, shocks/struts for the car, tires for both, etc.)  Both of them now have newly rebuilt transmissions.  :o)"

This year really was a good one to David and I.  We were surrounded with great friends and blessed with pretty much NO drama.  Woot!

September 2007

"Ouch, I think I sneezed out my spleen.  Wow, been knocked down with Con Crud since Tuesday night.  Suckage.  Just plain suckage.  I've downed an entire bottle of Vicks 44 cough syrup, a box of Tylenol Severe Congestion and a 1/2 bottle of Mucinex over the weekend and it's still not better.  It did give me a chance to just spend some time holding down the couch.  :oP"

That was a miserable week.  Could NOT get rid of that crap until I finally broke down and went to the doc in the box.  Fixed me up pretty quick even if the meds did leave a nasty old gym sock taste in your mouth.  Ew.

October 2007

"Here's the lofty list of the costumes I'd like to have by the time MTAC rolls around in April..."

Wow, that list still stands.  Have we started on ANY of them yet?  Nope.  I suck.

November 2007

"I can't believe it's already almost December. My Mom is now up with us and I love having her around again. It's like vacation and she's having fun and trying new things too. Dave likes it because I'm WAY less stressed. I don't have to worry about her all the time. I took her to the Opry at the Ryman last weekend to see Loretta Lynn - she had a great time! For her birthday on December 1st we'll be taking her to see the Music City Christmas with the Rockettes. She's always loved the Rockettes performances. :o)"

Having my Mom around again is just awesome.  Although I've spent way more hours at the malls than I can stand, it's been fun shopping with her.  Just don't want to see the inside of a mall for at least a year.  I'm not like most women - I CAN'T STAND SHOPPING without a goal.

December 2007

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the land

were people busy shopping, unlike they had planned.

Yes they'd intended to go early - not get caught unaware

so in the malls all the last minuters assembled there.

The smart ones were nestled all snug in their beds,

as visions of paper-backs danced in their heads;

and there I sat, with my wife on my lap,

all settled in for a cozy night's nap.

When out on the drive there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I went like a flash,

pulled open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the crest of the fake plastic snow

gave the luster of mid-day to an unexpected show.

When, what to my curious eyes should appear?

Dozens of crazed shoppers were heading over here!

I grabbed a big box of my Curious books so quick

I knew in a moment I must act like St. Nick!

More rapid than rabbits the buyers they came,

and I signed all my books made out to their name!

"For Cedric, For Basher, For Aunt Sue and Gary

For Stevie, For Deanna, For Sarah and Carrie"

I sat on my porch and signed them all!

and charged them full price, as I was no fool!

But the books they ran out, and the folks kept on coming

I started to panic this was no more a funnin'.

So I raced back in the house I bolted the door,

and desperately searched, yes searched for some more!

But alas no more of my books I could locate,

so I hid in the pantry and there I did wait.

As I sat there a trembling I had quite a thought,

Why wait till Christmas Eve for my book to be bought?

They could have easily have purchased it long before,

all those late shoppers who arrived mad at my door.

For if bought right now it'll arrive in a few days,

and whoever you give it to will be quite amazed,

at such a thoughtful gift as my latest book,

now available on Amazon - so please take a look!

Right now it is to be had with festive gift wrapping

so get on your keyboard and get a tap-tapping

and before you know it my book will be in sight!

So I Thank you all, and to all a good-night.

I couldn't resist posting the whole thing.  The book is amazing.  The author is amazing.  I'm in one of the stories.  What could be better?

All in all 2007 was a pretty good year.  I did have a huge debaucle with the 30 Seconds to Mars fan club/Echelon over the Family Reunion for next year.  It'll take a bit to get all of it smoothed over and all the ends tied up neatly in a bow.  Stupid ass promoters and their less than honest practices.  Bastard.

Better than last year's resolutions! :o)

In 2008, smartysmurf resolves to...
Backup my rayman regularly.
Keep my trance clean.
Put fifty faeries a month into my savings account.
Volunteer to spend time with thirtysecondstomars.
Overcome my secret fear of conventions.
Lose ten theme parks by March.

Hmmm...50 fairies a MONTH. Geez, I need to really get out there and set some traps! LOL

GAH! Lunesta makes LaLa Land VIVID!!!

OK - so I've had insomnia for about 4 years and I've been taking Lunesta for most of it.  I love it - it almost always works and I wake up feeling pretty good most mornings.  Last night - OMG - that was a different story altogether.  Leading into this I must preface that I've been studying my Japanese pretty hard the last few weeks.  I've offered up my services to a friend, P.S. Gifford, to help translate his new Horror Compendium magazine - Gluttonlump's Chilling Tales and possibly his full book, The Curious Accounts of the Imaginary Friend into both Spanish and Japanese.  :o)  I've been using Gackt's music to aide in my studying - that tied together with the Lunesta made last night a crazy one.

I took my Lunesta around 9 or so.  It takes about 30 minutes for it to start working so I was a bit behind schedule.  I was already in bed and playing some Phantom Hourglass on my DS.  Poor hubby was stricken with tummy troubles so he was pretty much up and down for a big part of the night.  At some point I woke up hornier than a Horny Toad (I know TMI, right?)  I was dreaming about being with Gackt and actually being his - anyway I went to the bathroom and came back to bed hoping to just fall back asleep.  I did but fell into one of the weirdest dreams I've EVER had.  I was working as a translator in Japan.  David and I had started to go our separate ways - I liked Japan, he didn't - we weren't fighting or anything, we were actually good friends.  Until I started seeing Gackt.  We had been dating for a few weeks when David showed up at the restaurant we were at - he walked up and just began to wail on Gacchan.  I was horrified.  As Gackt lay on the floor bloodied and broken - David just dried his hands off on my napkin and walked out.  I screamed for a doctor.  Gackt was on the verge of death - the doctor was about to call it when I felt Gackt squeeze my hand ever so slightly.  We got him to the hospital in time and he healed of his wounds in pretty good time.  It was strange, it was as if I could feel Gackt in my arms - he was so fragile and bruised.  When he was released, he wanted to meet with David and settle things like men - not monsters.  In the end, Gackt had set David up with a couple of live-in Japanese maid girls and he was happy.  Gackt and I ended up going on a cruise and basically lived happily ever after.

I told hubby about it this morning and he has now promised to never wail on Gackt and as long as he gets the two maid girls - he's happy.  What a man!  :oP

The above link goes to a video game name generator.  The first one that came up when it loaded make me spit my Pepsi all over myself.  I immediately thought of you...

Star Trek Manlove House

How can you not laugh hysterically at that?  I couldn't resist!

Dear Santa -

I've been a very good Kitty this year.

I've tried to better myself and learned to look inward for support and courage - I've come a long way. Drama is neatly packed away in a box in the attic. Friends are solid and recognizable now - I know who they are and it feels SO good. Not having to wonder is a big relief. I know who I am, what I believe and have surrounded myself with nothing but positive energy. (minus the FUBAR that was the 30STM Family Reunion - that one is still hanging over, looming - hopefully resolved by Spring of next year)

I have a few things that I want but I've already got everything I need.

- Good Friends
- Loving Family
- Wonderful Husband
- Great Job
- Metallic Pink Nintendo DSLite with Nintendogs
- Almost no bills
- Roof over my head
- My Mother finally under the same said roof!
- Authentic Japanese Rice Cooker/Steamer
- Working vehicle that I love
- Awesome co-workers

Who could ask for more?

Me. LOL :oP

I want:

A Sakura Bento Box Set
Nintendo Wii w/ Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
Hello Kitty Ear Muffs from Sanrio store
Hello Kitty / Kuromi Headphones from Sanrio Store
World Peas with Butter
FaeKittae wings (Monarch Butterfly wings with Maroon and Black coloring)
Shin Megami Tensei:Persona 3 - Mitsuru Kirijo Figure
Ron Paul for President
Quiet Click Keyboard for work
Torchwood Season 1 DVD
LOST Season 3 DVD
Nintendo DS - CSI Game

That's about it. I'm a pretty happy Kitty for the most part.

So what's on your wish list??
